Baystate Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system in western Massachusetts. Baystate Children's Hospital is a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with subspecialists across 15 pediatric divisions. Our 107-bed facility includes the region's only PICU and level III NICU, as well as a designated 24-hour pediatric ED and outpatient specialty services.
As Division Chief you will:
o Implement strategy for operations, safety, quality, and recruitment/retention.
o Understand and monitor the division's budget, implement goals, and assume stewardship of all financial operations.
o Participate as part of the senior leadership team in departmental and children's hospital strategy and decision making.
o Promote an environment of accountability, innovation, and agility.
Facilitate Academic Excellence
o Lead engagement in medical education (peds, med-peds residents, 4th year medical students).
o Guide and monitor the academic advancement of faculty.
o Cultivate and facilitate clinical and QI research initiatives.
Promote Clinical Best Practices
o Lead high reliability organization- culture of safety, quality and performance improvement.
o Practice clinically with our full-time child neurologist and support staff in our well-established and busy division. Practice at Baystate Pediatric Outpatient Specialty Center in Springfield MA, with inpatient consults at nearby Baystate Medical Center.
Qualifications: AMBS BC pediatric neurology. 5+ years' experience with evidence of progressive management responsibilities and leadership in an academic department. Faculty appointment to UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate commensurate with experience.
Compensation: The compensation range listed below represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees. Minimum= $240,000. Maximum= $315,000.
