Spectrum Health Lakeland

Company Overview

Spectrum Health Lakeland is a division of Spectrum Health, a $6.9 Billion integrated health system, with an award-winning health plan, teams of nationally recognized doctors, and providers and a network of hospitals and care facilities in Southwest and West Michigan. Our division include three hospitals, a comprehensive outpatient service center, regional cancer center, hospice residence, skilled-nursing and rehab facility, and over 45 employed physician practices. Our main campus is a 250-bed hospital located in St. Joseph. We also have community hospitals in Niles and Watervliet.

Spectrum Health Lakeland and our medical staff partners offer a wide range of services and most general specialties - with subspecialties available via Spectrum Health. In addition, we also invest in the latest tools and technologies. This includes three of the latest Xi models for the da Vinci robotic system for minimally invasive surgery - ranking us among only an elite few in the entire country. We use Epic electronic health records and are HIMSS Stage 7 meaningful-use certified - a distinction less than 7% of U.S. health systems have achieved.

Spectrum Health Lakeland is a teaching hospital, offering residency programs in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine. We also host 3rd and 4th year medical students from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Central Michigan University College of Medicine.

Southwest Michigan has been called the Riviera of the Midwest. We have access to amazing beaches and beautiful dunes along Lake Michigan, with a lush countryside that produces some of the nation's finest orchards and vineyards.

You will enjoy short commutes, no traffic jams, safe neighborhoods, and excellent public and private schools with an increasingly diverse population – only 30 minutes from South Bend, Indiana, and 90 miles from Chicago!

Company History

For over a century, Spectrum Health Lakeland has served the community of southwest Michigan. Since its inception with the opening of Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor in 1899, the health system has experienced mergers, consolidations, and continued growth and excellence.
